GDC recruits for two senior Legal and Governance roles

The regulator has started recruitment to fill two important roles in the Legal and Governance team.

The Executive Director, Legal and Governance will lead the delivery of the GDC’s legal, information governance and governance services, and contribute to the strategic leadership and corporate management of the GDC.

The Senior Counsel and Associate Director, Legal will provide strategic, risk based and pragmatic legal advice to the Executive Leadership team and to Council and lead the GDC’s in-house legal advisory function.

Both are existing roles that have been filled on an interim basis for the past 10 months.

Tom Whiting, GDC Chief Executive, said:

“These important appointments present an exciting opportunity to be part of our senior leadership team, delivering on the ambitions in our plan and strategy. Legal rigour and effective operations are important to building trust and clarity in regulation, and these roles are part of ensuring that we have a proportionate approach to regulation, focus on important areas of public safety, and maintain public confidence in the professions we regulate.”
